For six days, London Design Week 2019 offers a curated programme with more than 100 experiential sessions, one of which is our discussion with Constantina Tsoutsikou and Stuart Wilson from HBA London and Hamish Brown from 1508 London on the crossover between residential and hospitality design. In addition, we will see the return of 'Legends' imaginative window displays. The initiative celebrates collaborations, and for many, inspiration is provided by the photographic archives of Iconic Images.
As hotel guests seek a more informal experience and home owners want to have some of what they have enjoyed in hotels back home, there is an increasing crossover between hospitality and residential design.
Join us for us for a discussion with Constantina Tsoutsikou and Stuart Wilson from HBA London and Hamish Brown from 1508 London, three renowned designers who span both sectors. This is a wonderful opportunity for both professionals and design-lovers to gain valuable insights into the knowledge and expertise of some of the biggest names in the design industry.
HBA London X Natural History Museum Collaboration
British fashion model Wenda Parkinson waiting for the Hérmes aeroplane to be repaired in Nairobi, Kenia, for British Vogue, May 1951.
HBA London collaborated with the Natural History Museum to combine contemporary pieces of furniture with unique decorations and natural products, such as gemstones and preserved colourful insect. The room is called 'An explorer's box of natural curiosities'.
Decca worked closely with the team at HBA London to make a few pieces of furniture for this room and we couldn't be more thrilled with the results. You can read more about our collaboration with HBA London in a dedicated blog HERE.
Constantina manages the creative direction of HBA London's hospitality and residential interior design projects. Her role touches on every aspect of running the studio, leading the team and defining and developing the creative framework for projects. Since joining the company 13 years ago, she has worked on many prestigious and internationally acclaimed hotel, spa and residential developments around the globe, collaborating with owners, developers and hospitality brands to deliver inspiring, one-of-a-kind interiors. She believes that the best design emerges from weaving together local narrative and international mindset. Internationally educated and a constant traveller herself, she brings a love for cultural diversity and inclusiveness in her approach to projects as well as to the places she creates.
