Last year, Annabel’s opened the doors to its much-anticipated new home, a Grade I listed Georgian mansion house at 46 Berkeley Square, just two doors down from the original London nightclub. Redesigned with phenomenal attention to detail by Martin Brudnizki Design Studio (MBDS), Annabel’s now offers an all-day and all-night experience for Members to work, dine and entertain.
Spread over four floors and 26,000 square feet, Annabel’s encompasses restaurants, two private dining rooms, bars, basements nightclub, a cigar salon, a spa with its separate entrance, as well as workspace. Each room features boldly upholstered furniture, mirror- and marble-topped tables, richly layered varying patterns on the walls and ceiling, and a world-class art collection.
The Elephant Room at Annabel’s Club
Having worked with MBDS on The Coral Room at The Bloomsbury Hotel, we knew their design style is very eclectic with pops of bright colours and unique details and materials. So when we were asked to make bespoke tables for Annabel’s, we were excited to take up the new challenge.
Our favourite piece is the below glass-topped table with an upholstered base and edging in brass with studs.
MBDS wanted to layer up the fabric on the base in pleats and we created a sample to ensure the design meets their expectations.
The table below, with a hexagonal base in a coral red lacquer finish, were made with oval, round and square tops with metal edging in a brass finish.
Some of the square tables even had inbuilt rails that could be extended to place a separate piece of the glass table top in the middle. This gives the Club more flexibility when setting the room up for larger groups of guests.
Another great piece is the round table below, with an antique mirror top and a carved base in a high-sheen lacquer finish. Both the lower part of the base and the edging of the table top is made of stainless steel in PVD finish in a warm brass tone.
We also made some round tables with beautifully carved bases. Some of them were made using nothing but solid Ash wood, while others combined the Ash base with tops in either antique mirror or hammered metal finish.
Below you can see several round dining tables waiting to be finished with marble tops by Ashmore Associates. These tables have levellers on the bottom of the base to ensure stability.
Every corner of Annabel’s is a testament to excellent craftsmanship and richness of colour, beautifully executed by Martin Brudnizki Design Studio. We are extremely proud of our collaboration and can’t wait for the next challenge.
